Resilient Path Counseling

About Jason Schrott, LPC

Some things can only be learned by going through them.

I've had chapters in my life that didn't go the way I planned. Periods of real pressure, real uncertainty, and real reckoning with who I was versus how I was living. I didn't learn what I know about resilience from a textbook. I learned it the way most people do — by being tested, failing some of those tests, and choosing to keep going anyway.

That's not a credential you'll find after my name. But it's the one that shapes everything about how I work.

Before I became a therapist, I was a CEO. I've led organizations, managed high-stakes decisions, and operated in environments where vulnerability wasn't exactly encouraged. I've also lived and worked across different cultures — which gave me a particular appreciation for how differently people make sense of themselves and the world around them.

At some point, I made a deliberate choice to step away from that world and build something more meaningful. Becoming a licensed counselor wasn't a fallback. It was the result of asking myself hard questions about what I actually wanted to contribute — and being honest enough to follow the answer.

I became a therapist to give back. And because I genuinely believe that the kind of change I help people make is the most important work there is.

I understand high performance and its costs. I understand what it means to maintain composure on the outside while something underneath is asking for attention. I understand the particular exhaustion of being capable, competent, and quietly disconnected from yourself.

I also understand that insight alone doesn't create change. Knowing what's wrong and actually shifting it are two different things — and the gap between them is exactly where good therapy lives.

I'm direct. I'll challenge you — not to be difficult, but because I've seen what becomes possible when someone stops dancing around the truth. I'll also listen in a way that most people in your life probably can't — without agenda, without judgment, and with genuine attention to what you're saying and what you're not.
